Between talk shows, the latest magazine and all our friends—we’re constantly bombarded with trends and the newest big thing. Who’s telling the truth and who’s just buying the latest buzz? No one really knows, but what we do know is that we want to help you fight back against a few hair care myths…
  • Myth #1- Switching up your shampoo/conditioner frequently will make your hair look healthier: Experts say this doesn’t hold up, primarily because your hair can’t honestly tell the difference between brands and it typically doesn’t develop a liking or disliking for certain products. Make sure the product your using fits what your looking to get out of your hair.
  • Myth #2- Cutting your hair on a regular basis will cause it to grow quicker: Whether or not you cut your hair, it’ll grow on average half an inch a month. While cutting it often won’t cause it to grow, it can help to rid your hair of split ends and enhance the health of your overall look.
  • Myth #3-To really have clean hair, you must wash your hair multiple times a week and do a full rinse and lather each time: Not true at all. Most hair stylists recommend maximum three washed a week—and say that once through with shampoo and conditioner will do the trick.
  • Myth #4- Coloring your hair will cause major, irreversible damage: In the past this might have been very true, but with the advancement of products today, there’s no need to worry about long term damage when you color your hair.
  • Myth #5- Adding certain products into your hair care routine will help mend problems with split ends: Negative, once a hair is split, that’s it—it’s split forever! The only way to mend a split end is to cut you hair.

We hope these few tips will help you in knowing who to trust when looking for help with your hair!
